So for the past few days, I’ve been feeling like the ceramic pot I’ve chosen to hold the earth et al for the Abundance ritual needs a lid. I kicked around a few concepts but settled on creating a four colored “Malkuth” lid out of different colored clay.

I have a big set of the Sculpy III variety pack that’s been sitting around gathering dust for a while now. Whenever I sculpt something, I always plan to paint it afterwards, so the color of the clay rarely mattered to me, but this time I think it works quite well. It’s not exact, but I think the colors I chose are close enough to citrine, olive, russet (and the black’s fine) to work.

The key to making this work I thought was nice the clean 90 degree alignment of the four colors with one another. The solution was to cut up the clay blocks prior to smashing them together and line them up inside the plastic lid I chose for the mold. The mold has a nice ring indentation on the top that fits perfectly along the edge of the pot’s opening. It still needs some work, but I think it’ll work nicely once it’s complete, which needs to be by (one of) the hour of Jupiter on Sunday, which is when I’ll do the actual preparation of the urn and the spell to bring the operation to a close.

I’m now off to complete Day 5’s task: soil from the 4th bank on my list and an offering at a new crossroad.
