We’ll actually see two New Moons before this month is out, and today even boasted a solar eclipse (albeit in South America). This month of darkness promises the chance to hit the reset button on basically everything… which isn’t necessarily a good thing… but perhaps a necessary one.

For my part I keep plugging away at various tasks on my to-do list which always manages to outstretch my reach. I am grateful to have another big statue painting commission to work on, and I can still listen to raw cuts of stuff while I sit and work on that. Something I should get back to soon, but this evening I need to dedicate to my final prep work for the recording of the next Adventure Hook episode tomorrow, and it should prove to be a big one… long in the planning anyway.
I’m going to use the podcast platform as a form of predictive programming as a step towards Full Disclosure.
I’m sure to get a lot more push back before that one finally comes together, but I also managed to get my mock up of the promo art for episode 28 done this week as well…

Unfortunately the final edits aren’t quite complete yet (not my turn), but so long as they’re wrapped up in time for the scheduled iTunes release it’s probably all fine. This episode in particular went quite heavily into the magickal concepts of the Holy Hexagram and the Alphabet of Desire… possibly even more than many magick programs out there, and so I think could potentially serve as a one of a kind resource for gamers and magicians alike…
Aaron and I also recorded another episode of our Legend Lore: Realm of Terror which focused mostly this on the town of Vallaki. Great new material for any aspiring Curse of Strahd GM, and as a “Ravenloft masterclass” we also incorporated a new “terror track” of failed powers checks (for lycanthropes this time) as well as our first forays into updating Masque of the Red Death to D&D 5E. All good stuff for the Ravenloft enthusiast…
This week also marks the release of episode 5 of 7 of the To Baator and Back episodes on Red Moon Roleplaying. I really do think each episode is more exciting than the last, and so in truth 5 through 7 are really one big trip… in more ways than one…
Listener-ship continues to spike on Blackspire (likely due to interest from RMR fans) and this week also marks the release in the main feed of the Season 1 epilogue, which I think serve both as a nice wrap up to S1 and an epic teaser for S2, but also works as its own little one-shot adventure…
This episode may also pique certain interests as far as PC character creation for Season 2 as well. Jenny and I have plans to get together with some potential new players in the next few weeks, and I’m also talking with Jim to see when he’s next available to play as well. We might do another one-shot, we might do a crossover, we might do something else entirely… I still owe the White Hydra mercenaries one more side session to let them try to mitigate some of the intense trouble they caused last time we played…
…which it’s still unclear whether or not they’ll still be able to walk away from…
But, I also managed to get together the edits on the raw cuts of the next Season 2 stuff for Patreon. I’ve decided to put out the White Hydra stuff out weekly on Patreon to the $5 supporters (I’ve already wrapped up the first four episodes… the first of which is out this week) and the more intense Season 2 side sessions… like the introduction to Jenny’s new character Claerydia (also out this week) or the Jolly Paul side session at Mynphauna’s for the $10 folks… which is also done and scheduled for three weeks later this month.
I’ve got another seven-parter of White Hydra material to finish up on before we’re caught up on gameplay, and that should get me through September at least for the $5 crowds, and there’s plenty more to do (and get done) before then as well.
Without music and sound effects to worry about though, these shows end up being 100 times easier to do… and hence why I’m putting them out more regularly. I suspect bi-weekly releases (as opposed to weekly) were perhaps a reason Blackspire didn’t take off as quickly as it could initially (I always told myself since Adventure Hook was my other show, so I was always weekly) and also now by making the Patreon contributions private, my hope is more folks will fell less disinclined to support me.
But again, none of that may matter in the face of the spiritual tasks before us. Once again the 144k held a mass meditation during today’s eclipse…
And let’s just say… we hit the god damn reset button.
Full Disclosure and Planetary Liberation are at hand..!
