Work on the molds is slow, but sure. I plan to build up a number of layers, and as I end up laying it on fairly thick now, naturally as a result they take longer to dry, and this goes double for the much more vertical Fire Wand head.

There’s already a metal ring inside that Water Cup mold, and the wire frame I put around the wand piece should hopefully go a long way to helping the mold keep its interior shape, as I anticipate needing to cut the final mold somewhat to get that clay sculpt out of there.
Tonight we spend the evening with Soror Queaseitor In Pace and her boyfriend, and since the nice weather basically demanded it, I fired up the charcoal grill and my wife and I put on a pretty nice spread.
Soror QIP is looking into attending art school in the near future, and she showed me some of her work on her camera. She has a distinct flair for abstract art, and because she doesn’t have one, I encouraged her to create a portfolio of her work online. Below is my favorite of the abstract pieces she showed me.

And since the officers have followed up, I also floated past her some of my ideas about possibly hosting figure drawing events at Lodge, and she seems pretty excited about the prospect of working with me on it.
