My heart is probably really not in this post. I’m determined to stay positive, but I admit to battling more than my average share of negative thinking this week, as the “Age of Rescheduling” continues to rear its ugly head.

I’ve started to define this effect as “nothing is manifesting at its stated intended time”. It feels like the Universe’s gears are slipping and nothing is “clicking” like it should… though I am getting a few random twinges of deja vu here and there this week, and I usually interpret that as a True Will path. And so, even if this week was filled with its fair share of disheartening moments, I’ve decided to open myself up to the possibility at least some of it will one day wind up as something even better down the line…

Anyway, the good news to start with is at least the latest episode of Adventure Hook is now live (though just barely). At least it’s still in plenty of time for Halloween…

Aaron too caught the brunt of a “rescheduling” conflict, as a day’s worth of Hellblazer work was inexplicably wiped from his computer and set him behind on an already tight deadline. This means the show we were planning to record this coming week, as well as the editing he was to do for the next episode aren’t happening. So, I offered to handle this one too to buy him some time, though the future of recording together is looking grimmer and grimmer…

I did still manage to mock up the promo art for that show this week at least though, and now that it’s on me, I should be able to hit the deadlines we promise here…

This (longer between moon phases) week also features the release of the next two episodes of To Baator and Back, which are getting some decent initial listens, and here’s hoping (as probably my best RPG podcast work to date) it starts to net even more interest in my work…

I still have a handful of Blackspire side sessions to plan and run (hopefully in the next few weeks) but, while I do have a handful of solid ideas for each one I’ve begun to sketch out, for now I just haven’t had the time (or maybe the focus) to devote to any of them like I want. I even did a little minature painting this week, but nothing updated enough worth showing off. I have had other things on my mind this week…

As namely, I also celebrated a birthday this week… and of course it was one which was also plagued by the forces of rescheduling… and which ultimately frustrated my wife and myself to such a degree that it’s really just not worth going into here…

However, Jenny and I did make a point to pay a visit to the Restaurant Store in east Baltimore this week, and picked up a new fry pan and a sexy new Mercer chef’s knife that is far and away the sharpest blade I’ve ever handled, let alone owned…

I’ve been doing plenty of cooking lately (though not so much posting about it). Still, I did remember to snap a pic of my latest batch of hand crafted “artisinal” potato chips I fried up in our cast iron dutch oven this week… and which Jenny confirmed were my best batch yet.

Yum!

It’s only tangentially related, but I did decide to give myself a birthday gift, and wound up getting one of Maya Fiennes’s instructional kundalini yoga series (since the ones I used to do on Amazon are no longer available anywhere it seems). For any number of reasons I need to really get back into a solid yoga routine, and her videos are some of the most effective (for me) at really hitting the body-mind-spirit integration aspect of yoga practice that really is also crucial to my overall magick practice.

That stuff aside, I did receive one particularly neat gift this week though, my father had sent me two different translations of the Poetic Eddas, including the Dr. Jackson Crawford version which I’d been meaning to get for a while now.

The other version is an older hardback edition of the Larrington translation, and I must say it is very interesting to read through and compare the two (especially the famous “Catalog of the Dwarves”) but at this point this book (or more specifically it’s relation to a certain Norse-related project of mine) also now raises a twinge of heartbreak… though one I dare not yet vocalize, let alone publicly reveal my terrible suspicions…

Though try as I might, things seem miserably par for the course in one particularly painful aspect once more. And that’s more than enough already… I’ll say no more.

So, while I do fail to see the Abundance ritual at work in that particular respect, I did receive other word this week from one of my actual day jobs that things should be improving for me there. So, maybe not the creative-arena boon I was hoping for, but when regarding the practical avenues available to my sources of income, I suppose it only made sense as the path of least resistance.

And the circumstances of birthday also prompted the touching base with a dear old high school friend of mine now living in Reno. We have a standing invitation to visit and it’s something Jenny and I are starting to seriously consider, provided the right circumstances come about and all that…

While they do continually seem to come and go, I do seem to always manage to have an abundance of awesome friends. And now an old/lost friend is new again… Something to think about.
