This evening I got to work on the stone sections of the City Builder set I’ve been tooling away at. To start I’m dry-brushing those sections a medium-dark gray. Again the neutral color of the “dwarvenite” makes a terrific base color, so no priming needed.

There are far fewer stone sections in this set than wooden ones, so I also knocked out things like the (magnetized!) chimneys, and pieces from previous sets, like one of the beds, and these last few identical wooden dungeon doors. I want these to all have a similar color, but not be uniform. Here you can see the doors in various stages of dry-brushing.
I’m still quite impressed with the modular design nature of these pieces, and couldn’t resist the temptation to assemble a few (even just partially painted) pieces to get a feel for putting them together for gaming purposes. The paint job is starting to come together.
I also heard back today from the friend I reached out to about seeking some more writing work, so now I own him a email about my cred what I have to offer. A step in the right direction. Fingers crossed.
Additionally, I’ve gone ahead and reserved Lodge space on the two Sundays preceding our Summer Solstice ritual on June 18th. This is so we can get together and rehearse, and hopefully everyone will be able to make both dates.
