So we barely took our foot off the gas as we came screeching around the corner of October and came peeling into the month of November. 2019 will be gone faster than in the blink of Bramah’s eye…

I’ve mostly been focused on my day job work this week, as the raise I’d recently received came with its own share of new responsibilities, but really it’s just one more thing to juggle, and one I not be dropping in favor of a few other things that have fallen on the wayside… the one I feel most fiercely is my yoga routine that took a backseat with a few other things I may regret neglecting one day…

I also found myself making an unscheduled visit to our dentist this week (unrelated to Halloween) as one of my fillings mysteriously cracked while brushing my teeth… weird…

Still, even though the holiday unfortunately fell on a Thurday we had full candy bars at our house this year for those few trick-or-treaters who dared bared the rainy evening…

FULL BARS!!!

And that sort of lightheartedness aside, it being Samhaim also necessitated another mass meditation with the 144K group… as being a part of that felt central to the even larger energetic corner-turning we’ve all been undergoing… including our dear neighbor Sol…

This week (technically) marked my first attendance of the Flagons & Dragons gaming group, which I attended with two of my Blackspire players. We went as a “pick up” group so unfortunately didn’t actually get any gaming in, but we all did some networking (as well as a whole lot of brainstorming) and made good inroads with the coordinator. I basically need to volunteer as GM and run my own game next time, which I’m only too willing to do… I just have to decide what will be best to run. I have a few ideas that could work for the group (and even serve as Blackspire “canon”), but I haven’t settled on which one would be best…

Right now I can try a redo of the game I ran for the RPGB con (see Volume-teering) about characters getting initiated into the Cult of the Spire. I might also just run a huge bloody free-for-all gladiatorial competition that I could use to entertain the entire room if it came down to it. A third idea involves revisiting a setting I’d originally worked on for one of Jenny’s earlier Blackspire characters… a sort of eternal fey festival meets Lovecraftian time-travel…

We’ll see…

In the coming weeks I’ve got a few more Blackspire side sessions planned, including at least one Jolly Paul session (to cover what mysteriously failed to record last time we’d played), as well as one for BISHAMONTEN to also re-record a scene which did record (albeit poorly) but we didn’t get to on our re-take session, as well as a nifty little side session that should create a few interesting role-playing opportunities for Jim as well. I also plan to run the next side session for Jen and Jnny’s characters, and set the stage for a crossover adventure with Jolly Paul before he’s back on his own again…

And then there’s the Solina side session and a White Hydra mercenary group game to organize… plus I may be meeting up with an old gaming buddy for drinks this month and I’ll be gauging his interest as well… but first things first…

Aaron was out of the country this week, so Adventure Hook didn’t actually release on Patreon this week as scheduled… so we’ll have to adjust that episode’s date, which is just as well since we have no more material in the can after this show releases anyway… and while the Baator episodes continue to release, it won’t be long before I’ll be up to Episode 7 and out of fodder for the Blackspire stream again as well. I have plenty of half-edited bites I can make new teasers from, and once I start editing and combing through all our new recordings I should have plenty of material still to make many more, but when I get back into editing I need to really get back into it full force, and it’s been kind of nice to have other things to focus on over the past few weeks for a change.

I even gave an evening over to painting miniatures, which include my wife Jenny’s steampunk gorgon Claerydia and Jen’s kitsune sorceress Akihoshi… as well as a tiefling character she plays in a completely different game.

Of course I had a bit of fun painting the pattern on the kimono, and at this point I think the head swap feature works nicely as well…

All these are works in progress, but are coming along nicely…
