So, I’ve gone ahead and gotten tickets to the upcoming Maryland Folk Metal Festival at the Ottobar on August 20th. I am psyched, and though my wife gets first pick, if she decides she doesn’t want to endure 8+ hours of metal I’ll invite a friend. This will also be a great opportunity to do some O.T.O. “outreach” of sorts to local, and possibly like-minded folks. Live concerts are like church for some people… there is crossover here.

Maryland Folk Metal Fest
I’ve also begun sketching out possible cuts to the piece of wood that Richard Kaczynski gifted to me quite a few months ago. I love the natural curve to the wood and want to preserve that shape as much as possible within the final Fire Wand shaft (especially because the curve will be “echoed” by the curve for the caduceus that will be with the cast orgonite head).
I’ve spent enough time with this piece of wood that I can “see” the wand inside it, but as the piece is so uneven, and there are no straight cuts to make, I feel like I want to err on the side of caution, and make cuts that may be too small, rather than risk cutting away a section I might later regret.
Also, since Sabazius X announced it on his Facebook Page, it’s now official that William Blake Lodge has a new Body Master, Stephanie Olmstead-Dean. She’s reached out to me, and we’ll be getting together for dinner next week to pow wow about Lodge stuff, and also touch base with Shelley over at Crystals, Candles, and Cauldrons to see about nailing down some dates for WBL people to do a few classes at her store (as well as drop off the new postcards for the Enochian class in July).
Should be interesting.
