I really don’t know about these blog posts of late… my heart’s not really into doing it, and I sincerely doubt anyone would miss them if I stopped. I’m not fishing for a response here, just a realization I’m coming to…

I’ll keep it up for now out of habit if nothing else, but since I’ve agonized long enough over it today so I’ll just get into things…

This week I finally go to the edits on Episode 11 of Adventure Hook, which gets the edits for that show off my plate for a while, and allows me to focus on Blackspire catch-up. I’m about half way through the edits on S01E11 which is good because episode 9 came out this week already, and bad because I’ve been having trouble finishing and even once I finish that will only take me through the first week of October releases…

We do however finally have our next Blackspire recording session scheduled for next week. Hopefully I can get some great new material as right now I’ll run out some the end of the year. We’ve got enough time allotted in theory we can capture five whole one hour sessions if we play our cards right…

Aaron and I also recorded both the special edition of Legend Lore where we helped the new actual-play podcast “Tabletop Tantrums” brainstorm up some fundamental building blocks for their campaign. We talked with both PC John Reviewer from the About to Review podcast and his GM Jedidiah Roe and I think we all had a great time and ended up coming up with some great stuff they could work with.

We also recorded episode 12 of Adventure Hook (the Astral Guide came in handy) which went pretty well if I remember correctly, though I’ve yet to get to the promo art for that episode tackled, at least I won’t be doing the edits for that episode either…

Listener-ship on both shows continues to rise, and September’s numbers on Adventure Hook have already eclipsed August’s (and Episode 10 hasn’t even come out yet). Jim also gave me (personally) a nice plug on this week’s episode of Laughfinder (though once again he forgot to actually plug the podcast…)…

Season 3 Episode 51 The Wet Willie

On a much happier note, it was my wife Jenny’s birthday weekend, and we began by celebrating over dinner at one of our favorite fine dining establishments: Petit Louis… and are both ashamed to admit we each tried fois gras for the first time and found it absolutely delicious. We totally “get it” now… but as it is one of the culinary world’s truly cruelest foods we will probably never eat it again…

Additionally, while they no longer make Jenny’s favorite perfume anymore, we’d found a website Scentmatchers.com where they specialize in recreating discontinued fragrances. So, I ordered her a bottle of MV2 by MAC along with an extra bottle of lotion infused with the same which didn’t quite arrive by her actual birthday, as they can take anywhere from 8 days to 3 weeks to create…

Jenny had also signed up for an embroidery class with Robert of Beast or God which she’d been pretty excited about, but it turned out to be a real disappointment for her, as what was presented in the ad was a far cry from the actual class, which proved to be far beneath her skill level.

Not that she didn’t pick up a technique or two, but based on the price of the class, she’d have been better off taking a class at a Jo-Ann Fabrics or something…

And my own birthday (the big 4-0) is now less than a month away. Never seriously thought I’d see forty, but I never thought it’d look like this either…

Life is strange.
