I’ll be honest, I wasn’t feeling great today. Not exactly sick, but on the edge of sick… I only tend to get sick when I get stressed, and I have been feeling the weight of the upcoming Solstice ritual on my shoulders… and all I have yet to do for it.

I’ve decided to take off work the week of the 13th through the 17th, so I’ll be able to devote myself  that week 100% to the physical, mental, and spiritual requirements the ritual deserves.

And so this evening, the only work I really got done was another layer of latex for my big wall piece mold, as well as filling some gaps in the corner support pieces mold as well. I really didn’t do a great job with that one, and I expect I’ll be cutting some overhang off once this dries.

To head an “unacceptable illness” off at the pass so to speak, I plan to turn in early (especially for me) this evening, but before that the wife and I finally watched Patton Oswald’s new stand-up special Talking For Clapping. We’re big fans of his, and were excited to watch this, but right when it came out, so did the news that his wife had suddenly passed away. We were sure he’d end up talking about his wife and daughter in the special (he does) and thought it’d be too depressing, knowing what we knew at the time. Anyway, I guess enough time had passed for us (enough to give it a try) because the experience was only bitter-sweet…and still pretty funny.

Now off to bed. Hopefully I’ll be tip-top tomorrow.
