Halloween! This is my favorite time of the year. I spend the morning getting the house in order, and then most of the afternoon mocking up the Monomyth game on a few sheets of newsprint so we could playtest it.

Last year we got well over 50 trick-or-treaters at the house, and so this year Jenny made up almost twice that many treat bags. She fills them with candy, pencils, erasers, stickers, and little toys (so hopefully we get lumped in with the “good” houses.
Richard, Kerry, and Wimsaur came over for a very nice evening. Jenny made a hearty vegetable soup that was a big hit, and gnoshed on cheese, dip, desserts and drank the evening away.
After we’d eaten we gave the Monomyth game a try and it turned out to be pretty fun, and we discussed ideas for rules/variations.

Monomyth Mock-Up
Everyone had a few pieces of advice or constructive critiques, but for the most part everyone seems to like it, and while it still needs work, overall the structure is solid so it just needs some tweaks (and of course, final design in Illustrator, plus it will require a write up/rules & play variations).
