I was able to visit Jenny for a few hours in the hospital, and since I had to run the cage back to the SPCA anyway, I figured while I was down there I’d pop by The Avenue in Hampden to visit the occult store Crystals, Candles, and Cauldrons.

They definitely know their stones, and I finally got the nice hunk of ruby crystal I need to top off the orgonite head of my Fire Wand.

I also grabbed some frites at Le Garage, which was worth popping in for.

From a local antique store I also picked up a beautiful long sword, since I will need a straight sword for an upcoming ceremony. The shopkeeper told me it was actual Toledo steel, but based on the price they were asking; it’s a “steal” either way (hardy har-har!).

Toledo Steel Sword (for ceremonial purposes only)

The blade was a little rusty and very tarnished, but I was able to polish it up a bit with some honing oil, and did uncover on the blade where it does say it was made En Toledo Spina… so who can say?

It’s never actually held an edge so far as I can tell and is just a replica/ornamental weapon, which is fine by me since it needs to be a “virgin” blade (has never drawn blood or cut flesh) anyway… plus I don’t want to risk accidentally cutting myself or anyone else in ritual with an edged object (my Air Dagger aside I suppose).

I’ve been kicking around some ideas with Wimsaur on how I might go about embellishing my new sword… there is a lot of potential here.
