Today I continued work on the actual temple space for our Temple of the Western Gate project.

I’d already completed the canvas walls and PVC frame, but realized that for filming purposes it would behoove us to have higher walls. It’ll be a simple matter to add another foot to the PCV frame (I already had the extra pipe and bought additional attachments for just such an eventuality). Adding a foot of canvas was another matter…

I purchased another sheet of canvas and cut three 17” strips, which I glued onto the edges of the walls I also cut. The adhesive I used was a mixture of 2/3 normal white craft glue to 1/3 Gorilla Glue. The water-based craft glue reacts with the Gorilla Glue to create a nice foamy paste which I spread along the canvas edge (2.5” on each side) and press the cloth together, adding the total length of a foot to each side.

I pulled an “almost-all-nighter” to complete what I intended to finish today (the voice in my head wasn’t giving me a pass today). Now I can assemble it outside and prime the surface area.
