So this week I was mostly single-minded about being about to put certain things out of my mind.

To be on the safe side went ahead and updated the new age rating requirements for my YouTube Channel, clearly marking that nothing I make is made for kids. I don’t know if the timing is auspicious, or just ironic, as I crested my 1000th subscriber this week, and so now that channel is (or was) officially monetized so to speak…

I don’t know what that actually means at all… if anything… but it feels like a milestone that I’ve finally passed…

Feedback continues to be split, but I need to just focus on the positive comments, or not at all, and so while I don’t have any plans to do anything new with it right now, it’s interesting to see where things might go from here…

I spent the lion’s share of focus earlier in the week prepping the edits of the remaining teasers I was planning to create, and prepping all the episodes and show notes both for the next big batch of Patreon releases, as well as all the material/hosting meta stuff for those teasers. So as of now I have Season Two teasers #13 – 21 which along with the Patreon prep means I have release material to take me through late January.

While Adventure Hook seems to be on hold currently, this at least means I don’t have to think about any editing or episode creation for the entire holiday season. That doesn’t mean we won’t be recording more sessions or anything, just that I’ve bought myself a reprieve from actually having to edit anything more until 2020 if I want…

I’m glad that is all off my plate, especially considering what it’s looking like my next Blackspire project is. We hadn’t recorded anything new this week, but Jen, Jenny and I did have a sit down and over a few drinks had out first “marketing” meeting for how best to promote Blackspire. The current Patreon model doesn’t seem to be attracting new supporters, so the ladies have suggested I go ahead and create three fully edited Season Two episodes out of the raw episodes we’ve already done, and between them they can use it as a springboard to start the next stage of Blackspire’s promotional ventures.

I’m not sure if I already have enough for that, or if I want those Season Two episodes to be a lot more condensed, in which case it might be better to record at least one more session and make that three-parter about finding Brother Zao and tie it all up in a nice little arc… or maybe something cliff-hangery is better.

I don’t know. I don’t have to decide right now anyway, but it’s been on my mind. In truth I’ve fallen down another research rabbit hole (not dissimilar to my preoccupation with everything Viking last month) and naturally I notice a lot of the same Animism themes in the Norse religion as I see more and more as I continue to look into Shintoism (and everything Japanese) for inspiration for this story. Anime helps too sometimes… but nothing gets my imagination stirring quite like actual history.

The Japanology programs from NHK have been particularly helpful…

I also did a wee bit of prep work for the upcoming game for the Flagons & Dragons game (which fortunately I only really just need to tweak to make playable for this scenario) and I’ve gone ahead and scheduled our next Blackspire gaming session for the White Hydra guys for the first week in December. I want to make that game really fun for everyone, and it’s going to take a ton of prep work to pull off, but first things first is the Flagons game next week…

And Jenny got a new Kindle Fire 7 to and was pleased that with it she could finally join the world of Instagram… she started posting some of her magickal staves, as well as all kinds of her other crafty stuff over on Ariadnae’s Thread

Nábrókarstafur- The Necropants Stave.

Jenny also was looking ahead, and picked us up the super-handy Llewellyn’s Astrological Calendar for 2020 so we can see what to “expect” in the months and year ahead at a glance…

Well, let’s see if those Amazon Associate links work this time… I’m pretty sure I finally got Serial Artist to pop below…

And while I’m still hounded by dragons (some of my making, some not) I’ve tried to keep going with my (admittedly rather weak) kundalini yoga practice. The new exercise I’d meant to try this week was inexplicably missing from my private link to Maya’s site, but thankfully managed to get that sorted too… now I just need to commit to the practice…

Among other things…
