I attended all the scheduled events William Blake Lodge today, and we had a very productive business meeting, and among other things discussed my WBL t-shirts, the Summer Solstice, outreach ideas, and more.

Interestingly, the new Lodge Master asked that we open the meeting with a banishing, which I ended up getting “volunteered” to do (the mistake of making eye contact…). But it was actually good practice for me to perform on the spot like that.

Rather than using my “home-grown” Qabbalistic Ankh and revised LIRP routine, I performed the old skool LBRP, including using the Hebrew words for the Qabbalistic cross (I tend to prefer the Greek myself). I was a bit off since I was remembering the steps rather than performing them organically, but I think I did well enough.

I also served as the (black) Child for the Gnostic Mass, along with visiting O.T.O. Sister Joy (who served as priestess) and brother Azi Rasa (who was the second Child). I also stayed after to hear his class on the Yezidi people of norther Iraq, and the fascinating correlations he found between their culture and Thelemic thought, including much of the same miss-characterizations. I found the talk incredibly interesting, and would recommend it to any other Thelemite whose local body he might present it at.

I also asked a fellow friend at Lodge if she’d be able to fill in for Soror Q.I.P. and she said she’d get back to me once she’d reviewed the ritual. If not, I have other volunteers who put their names forward as well, so I’m sure one way or the other I’ll pull it off.

But, I’m sorta going to give myself the night off. I’m a whole season behind on House of Cards, and it’s one show Jenny won’t watch with me, as it’s just a bit too real for her… so now’s my chance.
