So, this looks to be a week of reconfirming old ideas, and old commitments… this was a week of inward work, and much to think about for 2019 around the corner.

As far as the outward stuff, the Christmas episode of Adventure Hook went live on Patreon this week, and while we’re pushing it pretty hard, not until it hits iTunes do we really have much hope of getting people to listen to it. Still (and true to the premise of the episode) Aaron and I both have taken a stab at doing different/variant mock-ups of the promo for it, which we’re teasing out a bit at a time.

Wonder if you can guess which one is Aaron’s… and note that any differences have reasons behind them, which will will make more sense once you listen to the episode… perhaps…

Additionally of course, the latest episode of Blackspire debuted, which is actually one of my favorites in the sense that its excitement (in my mind anyway) wasn’t based on the dangers of combat, but the tensions of a quiet social setting… namely a dinner with noblemen and powerful martial artists…

A Feast of Empty Plates: Pt 2 (S01E16)

It was a fun “getting to know you” sessions where I was running the dynamics of many different NPC personalities interacting with my players, and if they (and the listener) only knew all the mysteries that were hinted at all throughout, I think they might be almost as excited as I am to see where the story goes from here.

Jenny and I (figuratively anyway) feel like we’ve tied a nice little ribbon on the holiday shopping this year… but as for the actual ribbon-tying, that’s still being staged. Jenny is something of an artist when it comes to wrapping gifts, and she was excited to find a mother load of old decorative accouterments in the attic, so she’s really getting into the fine touches.

And of course… as we know so many kinds of interesting people, we end up getting some interesting holiday cards…

A Yuletide greeting from Frater Superabo

Speaking of gifts, Aaron and I will soon be picking the winner of our contest (who had the best idea submitted using the hashtag #newadventurehook) and they will receive the first six hardcovers of the Pathfinder comic series courtesy of Dynamite Entertainment and Paizo Inc!

We’re debating how to best record the bumper to go on the end of the Yule Horror episode, and while I’ve offered to do it with him, I’m just as comfortable letting him solo it… so long as it also includes the second ode to Felis (closing how we open).

[Christmas Greetings to Felis
(Frank Belknap Long’s cat)]
By H. P. Lovecraft

Haughty Sphinx, whose amber eyes
Hold the secrets of the skies,
As thou ripplest in thy grace,
Round the chairs and chimney-place,
Scorn on thy patrician face:
Hiss not harsh, nor use thy claws
On the hand that gives applause—
Good-will only doth abide
In these lines at Christmastide!

For Jenny and myself, we’re getting more signals and opportunities coming our way all the time that show us Abundance. I even did my monthly Abundance ritual (usually on the Full Moon) a day early to coincide with the Winter Solstice.

I ended up doing quite a bit of energetic work that day, and lent my aid to the mass meditations also going on during the Solstice… which also ties to the core of last week’s ritual at the Theosophical Society… and to some irons I threw in the fire this week I’d rather not discuss just yet…

Still, I’ve felt a pretty strong urge to get cracking on the video edits for Magick 201: Spellwork (Part 3… fixing what I initially lost) and then on to Magick 202: The Formula of Ritual which is the “good one”. Instead, I felt I needed to finally dive into a bit of esoteric study I’ve been putting off for far too long, and endeavored to finally attempt to full absorb the principles of the Law of One.

The Law of One: Book 1

At this point I’m about three quarters of the way through Book 1 of the Ra Material, and I must say it’s blowing my mind… especially because (often after a few re-reads) I find myself understanding it… at least I’m starting too. I’m not even done this book and I’m already hungry to find out what knowledge is contained in the other volumes…

It’s definitely broadening my horizons, and of course this ties into that operation as well.

Maybe it’s time I talk about this stuff rather than around it.

Maybe I’m not there yet.

To celebrate the Full Moon and the Yuletide, instead I’m off to the Maryland Yulefest to listen to folk metal and drink all day!

Maryland Yulefest

Gonna be a great time! Hope you have a great holiday and we’ll only talk one more time before the numbers click over and it’ll be 2019 already…
